چکیده
Phytoplasma infections are able to limit the lettuce growth around world. The alterations of biochemical contents in host physiology following phytoplasma infection remain be elucidated. In this study, changes total protein and chlorophyll content, proline, malondialdehyde (MDA) accumulation, peroxidase (POD) catalase (CAT) enzyme levels were investigated leaves plant after Candidatus asteris infection. Symptoms observed plants infected with yellowing, little leaf, stunting, a general decline. agent detected all by PCR-RFLP studies. Total phytoplasma-infected lower than those healthy control. Proline, MDA POX CAT activities increased as compared results show that can modify lettuce. conclusion, study indicated previously identified Ca. P. was still pathogen no its DNA sequence it reduce quality parameters possess potential danger growing areas.

Draft genome sequence of the New Jersey aster yellows strain of ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris’
The NJAY (New Jersey aster yellows) strain of 'Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris' is a significant plant pathogen responsible for causing severe lettuce yellows in the U.S. state of New Jersey. A draft genome sequence was prepared for this organism. A total of 177,847 reads were assembled into 75 contigs > 518 bp with a total base value of 652,092 and an overall [G+C] content of 27.1%. A total of ...
متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of “Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris” Strain OY-V, an Unculturable Plant-Pathogenic Bacterium
Phytoplasmas are unculturable plant-pathogenic bacteria causing devastating damage to agricultural production worldwide. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of "Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris" strain OY-V. Most of the known virulence factors and host-interacting proteins were conserved in OY-V. This genome furthers our understanding of genetic diversity and pathogenicity of phytoplasmas.
متن کاملCross-contamination of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) with Escherichia coli O157:H7 via contaminated ground beef.
A lettuce outbreak strain of E. coli O157:H7 was used to quantitate the pathogen's survival in ground beef and its transfer to hands, cutting board surfaces, and lettuce. Overnight storage of inoculated beef at 4 degrees C resulted in no pathogen growth, while room-temperature storage allowed multiplication. Hamburger patty formation allowed the transfer of bacteria to hands. Contaminated finge...
متن کاملCarotenoids of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) grown on soil enriched with spent coffee grounds.
The impact of spent coffee grounds on carotenoid and chlorophyll content in lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. var. capitata) was evaluated. A greenhouse pot experiment was conducted with spent coffee amounts ranging from 0% to 20% (v/v). All evaluated pigments increased proportionally to spent coffee amounts. Lutein and β-carotene levels increased up to 90% and 72%, respectively, while chlorophylls in...
متن کاملComparative genome analysis of "Candidatus Phytoplasma australiense" (subgroup tuf-Australia I; rp-A) and "Ca. Phytoplasma asteris" Strains OY-M and AY-WB.
The chromosome sequence of "Candidatus Phytoplasma australiense" (subgroup tuf-Australia I; rp-A), associated with dieback in papaya, Australian grapevine yellows in grapevine, and several other important plant diseases, was determined. The circular chromosome is represented by 879,324 nucleotides, a GC content of 27%, and 839 protein-coding genes. Five hundred two of these protein-coding genes...
